New Vampire Weekend single achieves 'most successful U.S radio launch in XL's history'
Reports say that Vampire Weekend’s latest single ‘Diane Young’ is the most successful U.S radio launch of any XL Recordings single to date. Quite the feat considering XL are also the home to Adele and more.
‘Diane Young’, taken from the band’s upcoming third album Modern Vampires of the City and coupled with double A-side track ‘Step’, has achieved “heavyweight promotional success”, according to Music Week.
The NY group’s last LP Contra reached top-spot in the U.S back in 2010, charting at No.3 in the UK also, but now XL are said to be expecting even bigger sales with this new outing.
XL Recordings are also home to the likes of Radiohead, The xx and Jai Paul, who himself has been in the news quite a bit recently.
