Neil Young tells crowd to stop singing and clapping along to his songs
It’s well-documented how annoying fans recording shows on their phones is, but what about when they sing along? It turns out this is a particular pet peeve of Neil Young’s.
The New York Times report that the veteran singer made numerous comments during his gig at New York’s Carnegie Hall on Monday night about fans singing and clapping along.
Young also took out his frustration on gig-goers talking amongst themselves on the balcony, reportedly saying sarcastically ”No, you paid real good money to get in here, so you should be able to listen to each other”.
The musician will return to the UK in July for a Hyde Park show, with support coming from The National, Tom Odell, Caitlin Rose, Phosphorescent and Flyte.
