Nakhane recruits Nile Rodgers and Moonchild Sanelly for new single "Tell Me Your Politik"
Nakhane is back with their first new outing in four years, "Tell Me Your Politik", which features Nile Rodgers and Moonchild Sanelly.
"Tell Me Your Politik" featuring Rodgers and Moonchild Sanelly is Nakhane's first new material since 2018's You Will Not Die album.
Nakhane says of the new release, "There had been some people I had thought very attractive, but when I got to know them, they revealed themselves to be a little too problematic for me to be intimate with, without feeling dirty. In this pursuit of being emotionally open I realised that I would be letting in energies that I found repellant. I found that was my boundary."
The track will be accompanied by a video directed by Nakhane at 6:30pm BST, marking their directorial debut. Nakhane adds, "I’ve always collaborated with my directors when making my previous videos, but I don’t think I understood what went on behind the scenes. When I decided that I wanted to direct this video, I felt I was ready to do it. I wanted to see if I could have my ideas realised without another person executing them. It was a test to see what my limitations are."
