Music Venue Trust welcomes announcement that live music can return in Wales
Music Venue Trust have revealed they "warmly welcome" the announcement from the Welsh government that live music can return in the country immediately.
This morning (28 May) the Welsh government confirmed that live music performances can begin again from today, and as BBC reports, venues will need to carry out risk assessments and limit groups to six people from six households.
One-way systems will be in place at live music venues, and they'll need to follow ventilation guidelines.
Music Venue Trust shared a statement on socials welcoming the announcement, which reads: "We warmly welcome the announcement by Welsh Government that live music can resume in Wales. This is a huge step for our Music Venues Alliance Wales members, for artists and audiences. There’s a lot of work to do, but we can now start the campaign to #ReviveLive in Wales."
"Thank you to all of you that supported our recent Open Letter to the Senedd. We know you are constantly barraged by social media calls to share this, tweet that, hashtag this or click on this to take part ... Because 100s of you chose to share our Open Letter, 1000s of people got to read it. Conversations restarted, positions were re-examined, and this change is the result. Every single one of you has power to make people hear and listen. Together we can make a positive difference."
