Munya Chawawa shares Unknown P's debut single "Piers Morgan"
Comedian Munya Chawawa's posh drill rapper alter-ego Unknown P releases debut single "Piers Morgan".
After announcing Unknown P's signing to Atlantic Records last weekend, the comedian's posh drill rapper alter-ego has dropped his debut single "Piers Morgan".
Unknown P takes aim at the Good Morning Britain host with his witty lyricism on the new track, which is accompanied by a video directed by Ehsan.
Speaking about Unknown P, Chawawa says, "I created Unknown P as a nod towards the appropriation and false ownership of black culture that often happens in western societies. Drill is very much portrayed as violent music for violent people, as a means of stubbing out a form of expression for many black young men…when in reality, it’s a genre of music enjoyed by people of all demographics across the world… Unknown P comes to burst the bubble of what the stereotypical drill artist and fan ‘should’ look like. He’s a pheasant-eating, Brexit-backing Tory who loves the genre as much as the next man and furthermore, he’s a decent drill artist in his own right."
Although "Piers Morgan" is his first official single, Unknown P has released a number of spoof tracks including his "Ain't It Different" parody, his Stormzy and Chip beef response "Diss & Chips", his "Burning Remix" and more.
