Morrissey says sexual harassment can be a "pathetic attempt at courtship"
"You must be careful as far as ‘sexual harassment’ is concerned because often it can be just a pathetic attempt at courtship," Morrissey told interviewer Chrissy Iley.
"I’m sure it's horrific," Morrissey continued when asked to clarify his comments, "but we have to keep everything in proportion. Do you not agree? I have never been sexually harassed, I might add."
The rather strange interview also dips into politics ("I'm nonpolitical, I always have been,") and his eating habits. After revealing his disdain for garlic, mushrooms, and onions he says that he's "never had a curry and... never had a coffee".
This is far from the first time that Morrissey has found himself at the centre of controversy - as well as seemingly defending Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey, just last month he appeared to voice support for UKIP leadership candidate Anne Marie Waters, and there's even a section dedicated to 'racism controversies' on Wikipedia. As well as that, just this year he's made a ridiculous statement about the Manchester terrorist attackand drawn criticism for attempting to sell an offensive piece of merch featuring civil rights activist and author James Baldwin.
