MOBO Awards announce changes to 2020 ceremony due to COVID-19
The MOBO Awards have released a statement announcing changes to the 2020 awards ceremony.
In November 2019, the MOBO Awards announced that it would return in 2020 after two years off. London's Wembley SSE Arena was due to host thousands of fans later this year, but in light of the coronavirus pandemic, organisers have had to cancel the attending audience.
The statement reads, "We have continued to monitor the unprecedented and changing situation around COVID-19 and it has become clear that, unfortunately, it is not going to be possible to host the 2020 MOBO Awards in the way we had planned with thousands in attendance at the SSE Arena, Wembley."
Organisers continue, "We have started preparation for an altogether different type of awards show, which we will be sharing exciting announcements about very soon."
Those that bought tickets to the awards show will be reimbursed.
The 2020 #MOBOAwards will no longer take place @ssearena as planned.
