Mikky Ekko strikes gold (again) with new single "What's It Like Now"

Consistently brilliant pop puppeteer Mikky Ekko has pulled the ripcord on "What's It Like Now", a blend of rubbery electro and surgical steel hooks.
While lithe synth lines warp and stretch in the undergrowth, Ekko's voice flips into dizzying shapes - it's an erratic lunge into new territory for the Nashville-based artist, but one that's very, very welcome.
The Rihanna collaborator has unveiled the track - part of his Advance Copy EP - as he prepares to unveil FAME, his second album proper and the follow up to the acclaimed Time.
Ekko has a string of European shows booked for next month, including a headline date at London's KOKO on 17 May. Find out his full live plans.
