Mikal Cronin shares new Paul Simon parody video for "Say"
Mikal Cronin has shared the music video for "Say" from his latest album MCIII, parodying Paul Simon's "You Can Call Me Al".
Directed by comedian Jonah Ray, "Say" sees Cronin and Ray take on the guises of Paul Simon and Chevy Chase mirroring the music video for Simon's hit "You Can Call Me Al", until everything steadily loses the plot.
On making the video, Jonah Ray said ""When my friend Mikal Cronin approached me about doing a video parody of Paul Simon’s 'You Can Call Me Al' and said that I would be playing the part of Chevy, I stopped him right there. I said, “Mikal, my dear sweet acquaintance, I alone cannot play ‘the Chevy,’ as we are all ‘the Chevy.’ He is the light, the love, the Fletch.” That’s when Mikal broke down in tears over the phone. I laughed at him and said, “It’ll be okay young, dumb, silly Mikal… It’ll be okay"."
"Say" follows the recent unveiling of the music video for "Turn Around", which recreates the video for Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn".
