"Houston is still healing": Megan Thee Stallion cancels hometown show following Astroworld tragedy
Megan Thee Stallion has cancelled her Houston show this Friday (3 December) out of respect for the victims of Travis Scott's Astroworld event in November.
Amid reports that Travis Scott's offer to pay the full funeral costs of all Astroworld victims has been rejected by half of the victims' families, Megan Thee Stallion has cancelled her upcoming show in her hometown of Houston out of respect for those that died at the event.
Houston Chronicle reported that Megan Thee Stallion said of the cancelled show, "Out of respect for the lives lost in Houston earlier this month, I have decided to cancel my show at 713 Music Hall on Dec 3."
"Houston is still healing and it's important that our community be given the appropriate time to grieve," the rapper added. "My heart goes out to all the families that are suffering during this difficult time."
10 people have died after the crowd surging forward during Travis Scott's headline set at Astroworld 2021 last month, resulting in Travis Scott, Drake, Apple and Live Nation facing a $2 billion lawsuit.
