Matthew Herbert, Goldfrapp & more to rework baroque classics for BBC
A handful of modern artists have been chosen by BBC Radio 3 to give their takes on 17th century works of classical music for the corporation’s upcoming Baroque season.
The likes of Matthew Herbert and Goldfrapp’s Will Gregory will team up with BBC Concert Orchestra for a special live performance.
Herbert (pictured above) will take on the music of Jean-Philippe Rameau, while Gregory will try his hand at reinventing Johann Bach’s ‘Sarabande’.
Meanwhile, Scandi musician Ane Brun will play a series of compositions from Henry Purcell’s ‘Dido And Aeneas’ and neo-conductor Thomas Adès will be playing his own original creations.
The event will take place at London’s Roundhouse on 11 March.
