Mark Morriss accused of joking about predator allegations during live show
The Bluetones' vocalist Mark Morriss has been accused of joking about allegations of him being a predator on stage during a gig at Scunthorpe's Cafe Indie over the weekend.
In November last year Morriss' ex-wife Anna Wharton published a long post titled "If I’m Lying, Come Sue Me" via Substack detailing her experience with Morriss, along with messages from other women about him.
Wharton accused Morriss of being an abusive, "narcissistic, pathological liar" and a "serial predator", and over the weekend new footage of Morriss joking about the allegations during a live show in Scunthorpe appeared online.
Last November Morriss told The Guardian that the allegations are "wholly untrue," and added, "I refute them completely."
In the footage from Scunthorpe's Cafe Indie from the weekend, Morriss said, "You do know that, by buying my merchandise, you are enabling a whole, whole wardrobe full of unseemly behaviour, which I can only afford to do with that merchandise money."
Later in the clip, he told the crowd, "That’s a side of me I didn’t really want you to see. I’d rather you just think of me as a sexual predator… an abuser. A party guy."
Does Mark Morriss *really* think it's ok to make jokes about being a predator?
