Marianne Faithfull is said to be "stable" following coronavirus treatment

Marianne Faithfull is reportedly "stable" after receiving treatment following her COVID-19 diagnosis.

Rolling Stone reported that Faithfull was receiving treatment at a London hospital after testing positive for coronavirus.

On Saturday (4 April), Faithfull's representatives told Rolling Stone, "Marianne Faithfull’s manager François Ravard has confirmed that Marianne is being treated for COVID-19 in hospital in London. She is stable and responding to treatment. We all wish her well and a full and speedy recovery."

Faithfull reportedly checked herself into the hospital last Monday (30 March) after getting a cold, and tested positive for the virus. Faithfull's friend Penny Arcade told Rolling Stone that she developed pneumonia in hospital.

The 73-year-old has some previous healh issues, including breast cancer and hepatitis C.

Folk singer/songwriter John Prine has also been hospitalised with COVID-19. Last week his wife said he was still in intensive care, and is "very ill".
