Mannequin Pussy announce new EP with opening track "Control"
Philadelphia's Mannequin Pussy are back with news of their forthcoming EP Perfect, and have shared the opening song "Control" as the lead cut.
"Control" is the group's first single of 2021, and arrives just days after the band revealed that their guitarist Thanasi Paul has left the group.
The new single, which is also the opening song from the new EP, is accompanied by a video directed by the band's vocalist and guitarist Missy.
After spending much of 2020 apart due to the global pandemic, the band booked some studio time with two pre-written songs, and developed more songs during the session with producer Will Yip. Missy says, "We just figured if we forced ourselves into this situation where someone could hit 'record,' something might come out. We'd never written that way before."
