Manic Street Preachers to premiere new single on Monday?
Manic Street Preachers have taken to their Twitter to tease their fans with hints about possible airplay of a new single, and pictures of a newly mastered album.
After making veiled allusions this week to Rewind the Film - rumoured to be the title of the upcoming longplayer – the band tweeted earlier today a message saying that fans “might want to listen to 6music monday morning.”
This was followed shortly afterwards by a picture of the 3rd Lions vs. Australia test at Sydney’s Olympic Stadium- the Manics are currently touring Australia and New Zealand- and, subsequently, a picture of a CD with “Manic Street Preachers Rewind the Film 18/6/13″ written upon it.
It’s likely this is the first of two planned albums from the Welsh rockers, with a “soul vibe” and “Rolling Stones-style horns,” according to singer James Dean Bradfield. If what’s to come on Monday is indeed a first look at the album’s maiden single, Bradfield has described it as being “very positive, but darker moments too.”
