MAMA & Company, who operate a variety of venues and festivals, are reportedly considering a sale from two sources.
The group currently owns London venues The Forum, The Jazz Cafe, Barfly, The Garage, The Borderline and Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen, and Manchester's Ritz, Birmingham's The Institute and Liverpool's East Village Arts Club. It also owns festivals Lovebox, Wilderness and The Great Escape, which are apparently selling tickets "ahead of expectations".
MAMA has enlisted the help of business advisors AlixPartners as it "mulls its options following two unsolicited bids for the firm". Music Week reports that the offers are from sources in the music/entertainment industry.
In 2012, when in administration, former owners HMV sold MAMA to Lloyds Development Capital for £7.3 million.
