M83 has discussed his upcoming as-yet-untitled record in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Speaking to EW, M83's Anthony Gonzalez says:
“It’s a very strong album with a lot of eclecticism... it’s very epic. There’s a lot of different genres that are not supposed to live together but I tried to make them live together, which is quite challenging. It’s also quite different from the previous albums which is what I’m the most proud of.”
The new record will follow 2011's Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, and is expected at some point in 2016.
M83 has already been announced for a slew of festivals next year, with slots at Bilbao BBK, Way Out West, Flow, and NOS Alive already confirmed.
