Later today, M.I.A and Janelle Monáe will perform together live – well, sort of.
The pair will team up for the launch of the Audi A3 car, each appearing at launch parties in New York and Los Angeles respectively. Thanks to “integrated video mapping”, they will both be joined by a hologram image of the other.
“The set utilises 3D projection mapping to add layered depth of field perception with animated graphic content,” a statement reads. “The result of which will be an electric never-before-seen 3D bicoastal performance.”
Meanwhile, you can hear Janelle Monáe’s recent cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes”.
