Lydia Loveless announces new album with lead cut "Love Is Not Enough"
Lydia Loveless has announced her first album in four years, Daughter, alongside sharing "Love Is Not Enough" as the lead single.
"Love Is Not Enough" is Loveless' first new single since 2017's "Desire" single released with a cover of Justin Bieber's "Sorry".
"The song is a response to the old-fashioned idea that love is all you need as opposed to understanding, or give and take," Loveless said in a statement (according to Pitchfork). “On a larger scale, it’s about people who say things like ‘love trumps hate’ and take zero action to make it true. It’s not enough to ‘feel’ the emotion of love to make things work whether it’s in your own personal relationships or the way you interact with the world."
Daughter will be Loveless' first album in four years, following on from 2016's Real.
The album was recorded with numerous longtime collaborators and producer Tom Schick at Wilco’s Loft studio in Chicago.
