Lucy Dacus to donate all proceeds from upcoming Texas shows to abortion funds
Lucy Dacus has revealed that she'll be donating all money made from her upcoming shows in Texas this month to abortion funds after the state passed a law banning abortions after six weeks.
This week Texas passed a controversial new abortion law - one of the strictest in the entire US - that bans abortions after just six weeks of pregnancy, and allows anyone to sue doctors and clinic employees who perform or help arrange the procedure.
Following the extreme law, which wasn't blocked by the supreme court despite an emergency appeal, Lucy Dacus has announced that all proceeds from her upcoming concerts in the state will be donnated to abortion funds.
Dacus wrote on Twitter, "all the money I make at our upcoming shows in Texas will be going towards abortion funds jsyk, if you're not cool with that don't come."
She added, "if you are cool with that (and are vaccinated) Austin and Dallas are sold out, but Houston and San Antonio are not, come thru and bring extra $ cause I'm gonna figure out a donation situation."
