Velvet Underground frontman, Lou Reed has been announced dead at the age of 71.
The American musician underwent liver transplant surgery back in May and the cause of Reed’s death is said to be liver-related also.
“The world has lost a fine songwriter and poet,” former bandmate John Cale wrote of the news. “I’ve lost my ‘school-yard buddy.”
