London record store On The Beat fails to sell on Ebay
A record store in Central London previously placed for auction on Ebay by its owner, along with its entire contents and extensive vinyl collection, has failed to sell.
Soho’s On The Beat Records was up for sale as a “Buy It Now” for £300,000 but didn’t manage to find a buyer.
“If you’re at the stage in your life when you don’t have to worry about making money but can live the bohemian life, meet interesting people every day and the occasional pop or rock star, here’s your chance to take over the oldest record shop in the centre of Swinging London,” owner Tim Derbyshire wrote in the online listing.
The shop, located on Hanway Street, near Tottenham Court Road, was first opened by Derbyshire in 1979.
