Listen To The Chemical Brothers Soundtrack For ‘Hanna’, ft. Stephanie Dosen
Kevin Shields, Trent Reznor, Clint Mansell (Pop Will Eat Itself) and Daft Punk - just a few acts who’ve made a successful transition from recording artist to celebrity-composer. Considering their pedigree, it comes as a surprise that The Chemical Brothers are only just taking their first steps into the world of motion picture soundtracks – but from the quality on display here, let’s hope it’s the first of many.
Starring Cate Blanchett and Eric Bana (he of that god awful Hulk re-make from a few years back), Hanna tells the story of a 16-year-old girl who was raised by her father to become the perfect assassin. Directed by Joe Wright, the film is released in the UK on 8 April… Judging by the synopsis I might just wait for the DVD.
However, it’s the soundtrack that we’re concerned with and luckily it’s quite stunning. Especially as it features the first new Stephanie Dosen material in what feels like an eternity. The Bella Union signed artist who now performs under the moniker Snowbird (alongside Bella Union boss and ex-Cocteau Twin Simon Raymond) co-wrote ‘Hanna’s Theme’ with The Chemical Brothers especially for the film.
Head over to MySpace now to hear the soundtrack in full. The Dosen collaboration is the last song – ‘Hanna’s Theme – vocal version’.
