LCD Soundsystem man, James Murphy has compiled a collection of songs painting summer in a rather gloomy light.
When asked by Rdio to assemble a selection of seasonal anthems, Murphy turned out a fourteen-track plethora of moody classics, suggesting a darker, often neglected side to the subject. The playlist- which can be streamed below- draws on many of Murphy’s influences, including Suicide, Black Flag and John Cale, and was termed by its creator as his ‘not particularly summery summer jam mixtape’.
Murphy has been keeping busy elsewhere with the creation of his own sound system, and producing the forthcoming Arcade Fire LP, which is to be released on October 29.
