Alt. country undergrounder Jib Kidder has begun poking his head above the surface lately, and with new track "Appetites", he wriggles his shoulders a few inches above the dirt.
Featuring Julia Holter on backing vocals, it's a dreamy paean built around '60s psych tenets and Americana virtues. It sounds caked in red dust, but so dishevelled and unaware. It's also a wonderful launchpad for Kidder's axe chops - that solo towards the end is fiiine.
Kidder's upcoming record Teaspoon To The Ocean is released through Weird World on 26 January 2015.
