Actress, model, and general polymath Lily Cole made a surprise appearance during Gruff Rhys' main stage performance at End of the Road Festival.
Duetting with the Super Furry Animals frontman on "Selfies In The Sunset" from his latest solo release Babelsberg, her unanticipated cameo was but one of many highlights of an eclectic and compelling set.
Earlier in the day, Rhys also opened a Saturday-run of Best Fit-curated secret sets. Fighting over the more strident sound of (Sandy) Alex G, the beloved Super Furry Animals frontman wrapped up his five-song, stripped-down set with "No Profit In Pain", a heartfelt paean to the NHS.
End of the Road continues on Saturday 1 September with headline sets from Vampire Weekend and Oh Sees.
