Lil Wayne to release new book by Reverend Al Sharpton
Lil Wayne‘s record label, Cash Money Records is releasing a new book by the U.S Baptist Minister, Reverend Al Sharpton, in spite of past verbal feuds.
The book, out 8 October, is called Rejected Stones, and will chronicle Sharpton’s life from activist to political candidate to civil rights spokesperson. The book will also discuss Wayne and other rappers, according to Newsday.
The Reverend has had some unkind words to say about the rapper in the past, and take a look at these lyrics from Tha Carter III, from the song ‘Misunderstood’:
“You see, you are no MLK, you are no Jesse Jackson / You are nobody, to me / You’re just another Don King, with a perm / Hahaha just a little more political / And that just means you’re a little unhuman, than us humans / And now let me be human by saying / Fuck Al Sharpton and anyone like him.”
About the resolution of conflict, Sharpton told AP, “Just because we disagree doesn’t mean we have to be disagreeable.” In other words, Cash Money.
