It was a shock to many when ‘BasedGod’ rapper Lil B was beaten to the chance of performing at the Grammy Awards by a virtually unknown pop-punk band.
Lil B had been entered into the Grammys “Gig of a Lifetime” contest and widely expected to win.
Now it turns out that he did indeed win, but didn’t perform because he didn’t read the email from the ceremony’s organisers.
Lil B tweeted:
“thank you to cbs and the grammys.forgive me for reading my emails late, thats why i didnt perform i missed grammys email crazy”
He later confirmed the story to Pitchfork.
