Late Justin Bieber gig costs O2 Arena £300k in fine
London’s O2 Arena has been fined £300k for breaking its curfew on Monday night (4 March) when Justin Bieber arrived late on stage.
It has been alleged that the pop sensation was two hours behind schedule, but Bieber himself has since stated that he was only around 45 minutes late.
Many parents with young children were angered at the show running so late on a school night, many booing and leaving early.
Either way the gig broke the cut-off by 40 minutes, with Bieber finally finishing at 11.30pm.
This incurred charges of just under £10,000 per minute by Greenwich Council, totalling at around £300,000.
UPDATE: The Scotsman are now saying that the council has decided not to taken any action against the venue, despite contrary reports.
