
Tobias Jesso Jr, Malay and Emily Warren all help out on LANY's second album Malibu Nights
The California-based three piece release their second album today. The 9 track collection focuses around frontman Paul Klein's most recent break-up.
Having shared a string of singles prior the the release of Malibu Lights, from the pulsing piano of "Thru These Tears" to the atmospheric "I Don't Wanna Love You Anymore" their second album drops today.
Enlisting a bunch of collaborators from songwriting power duo Sasha Sloan and King Henry to some of the band's favourite aritsts, the record was made in the beginning of 2018. As Klein explains "I wanted to come into 2018 trying everything. I wanted to spend those two months as an experimental, fun time. But I just wound up writing album two."
Album highlight and closer, title track "Malibu Nights" was co-written with Tobias Jesso Jr and marks a very personal moment within the album's narrative. Latest single "If You See Her" sees Malay (Frank Ocean, Lorde) co-produce and Emily Warren (Dua Lipa, Sigrid) go in on the lyrics with Klein and Dave Pramik (Rag ‘N’ Bone Man, Bebe Rexha).
LANY embark on more touring in support of the record beginning in London on 8 October at O2 Kentish Town Forum.
