Lana Del Rey and The 1975 close the first day at Super Bock Super Rock

Matty Healy paid tribute to The 1975's billing - under Lana Del Rey - last night as Super Bock Super Rock opened, celebrating 25 years as a festival.

Playing an extra-long set ahead of LDR's headline show, Healy checked his own ego in before noting: "There are not many people I won't be annoyed about going on before."

The 1975 singer was on strong form, telling the audience, "we just keep getting better and better," before breaking into "It's Not Living (If It's Not With You)".

Ahead of Lana Del Rey's set, the NYC-born singer spent the day on the tourist trail around Lisbon, visiting the seafront and the stunning 8th-century São Jorge Castle, which overlooks the historic centre of the city. "I didnt think anything could top that," she told the audience after set opener "Born To Die".

Almost five years since her last show, the singer/songwriter bounded through a setlist that included her cover of Sublime's "Doin' Time" and a medley of "Change", "Black Beauty" and "Young and Beautiful". "We smushed them together," she explained

The festival continues today with headline sets from Phoenix and Christine & The Queens.
