Lady Gaga performs US national anthem during Joe Biden's inauguration
Lady Gaga gave a stunning performance of the US national anthem during Joe Biden's presidential inauguration ceremony in Washington D.C. today (20 January).
Gaga gave her performance of the US national anthem "The Star Spangled Banner" at the US Capitol before Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the United States, and was accompanied by the United States Marine Band.
After performing the national anthem, Lady Gaga wrote on Twitter, "Singing our National Anthem for the American People is my honor. I will sing during a ceremony, a transition, a moment of change - between POTUS 45 and 46. For me, this has great meaning."
In a second tweet, Gaga continued, "My intention is to acknowledge our past, be healing for our present, and passionate for a future where we work together lovingly. I will sing to the hearts of all people who live on this land. Respectfully and kindly, Lady Gaga."
