L.A. Foster teases debut album for 2022 with new tracks "Damn Love" and "New Life"
Two new tracks from Canadian musician L.A. Foster reflect the uncertainty and hope that life during the pandemic has brought and offer a glimpse of where her long-awaited debut, produced with longtime collaborator Stephen Ramsey from Young Galaxy
Lead track "Damn Love" (backed with "New Life") also gets a visual to acommpy Foster's restrained, soulful and minimal sound, made up of shots she took from her travels and tours in Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Paris, Barcelona, U.K and Montreal.
The song's informed by the chaotic state of the world right now. "It’s a sort of romantic approach to saying, 'It’s all a mess so we might as well love each other'," explains Foster. "It's a song about that, what’s next, especially considering what we’ve all just been through with the pandemic. It’s a big mess but there’s so much damn love….we are very resilient us humans, and we are reckoning with some much..."
Originally from Edmonton, Foster's currently based in Montreal and working on her PhD as she finalises her long-in-coming debut record.
