Kodak Black celebrates prison release and addresses Trump pardon on new song "Last Day In"
Kodak Black has released his new track "Last Day In", which sees the rapper celebrate his release from prison after his sentence was commuted by Trump last week.
Last week outgoing US president Trump issued over 100 pardons and commutations of sentence, including rapper Kodak Black, who received a commutation of sentence and was released from prison last Wednesday (January 20). The rapper was serving over three-and-a-half-years after pleading guilty to a firearms possession charge on the US/Canada border in March 2020.
Over the weekend Kodak Black shared his new track "Last Day In", which sees him reference his release from prison and his commuted sentence over a mellow instrumental. He raps, "Trump just freed me, but my favorite president is on the money / All the hate and prejudice has become evident to me."
The rapper's new outing marks his first single since being released from prison, and follows last year's WizDaWizard and Mike Smiff collaboration "Vultures Cry 2".
Last week Lil Wayne received a full presidential pardon from the outgoing president.
