Klaxons reveal 'Flashover', streaming now…

It seems like an eternity since Klaxons burst onto the scene three years ago with that nu-rave nonsense. It wasn’t their fault they got thrown into such a silly hyperbolic genre of course, more down to an over excitable NME scribe no doubt. Regardless, you can’t fault them from having the tunes. From a highly limited edition single on Sweden’s Service label to their breakthrough Number 1 debut album Myths Of The Near Future, 2007 was certainly the year of Klaxons.

Tonight, they’re back and reveal the first taster from their new album. I can’t tell you what ‘Flashover’ sounds like because I’m writing this at 7:20pm – 40 minutes before the stream is set to go live. Head on over to their website and see for yourselves.

Judging by the press release, it’s more of the same – but different – “a game-changing album dripping with sonic and cultural ambition, but still heavy on the flashes of pop genius that we all know and love Klaxons for”. Interestingly, it was produced by Ross Robinson who is responsible for the likes of Sepultura, Slipknot and At the Drive In.

Klaxons play live dates in June and July (details below). Tickets go on general sale 9am May 27 and are priced at £12.50 (£14.00 for London).

June
15 – Paris, Nouveau Casino

July
13 – Glasgow, King Tuts
14 – Manchester, Ruby Lounge
27 – London, Village Underground
