Katy Perry, One Direction and Taylor Swift on Forbes' new Top 100 Highest-Paid Celebrities list
Katy Perry, One Direction and Taylor Swift have all been named in the Top 10 Highest-Paid Celebrities Of 2015 list by Forbes.
Despite Swift's record-breaking album 1989, she is only (only?) the 9th highest earner, scooping £80 million. Perry is 3rd, while One Direction are 4th. It's understood that world tours from Perry and One Direction have been the driving force behind their freshly-gained moolah.
This year, Forbes decided to "refocus" the list to only display the "in front of camera" talent, so while the likes of Steven Spielberg probably raked in the Benjamins, they're not included this year.
Beaten only by boxers Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, Katy Perry said of her cover story for the magazine: "Before accepting the offer to be on the cover of Forbes, I was told that a lot of women have previously shied away from doing it. I wondered if it was because they thought socially it would look like they were flaunting or bragging or it wasn't a humble decision. Ladies, there is a difference between being humble and working hard to see the fruits of your labor blossom, and your dreams realized. Hopefully this cover can be an inspiration to women out there that it's okay to be proud of hard earned success and that there is no shame in being a boss. Also... don't think that I didn't celebrate this moment by going straight to Taco Bell and getting my crunch wrap supreme."
However, despite Perry being the highest-paid musician, and the third highest earner overall, she is one of only 16 women on the entire list. Other musicians include Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Drake.
