Kathleen Hanna suffers Lyme disease relapse, cancels tour
Former Bikini Kill singer Kathleen Hanna has announced she’s been forced to cancel her remaining live dates with band The Julie Ruin in order to undergo treatment for Lyme disease.
As well documented in recent film The Punk Singer, Hanna has suffered from the illness for the past few years. Hanna and co were scheduled to tour Europe and North America, however the infliction seems to have flared up again.
A statement from Hanna reads that the postponed dates are necessary to “allow Hanna to heal so that they can continue touring in the future”. Stereogum note that the Le Tigre musician will embark on a “difficult three-month treatment regimen” to battle the disease.
