Kate Nash delivers a love letter to Earth in punky new track "Trash"
Kate Nash's delivers punchy new track "Trash", which was inspired by taking part in an exhibition on single use plastics.
Having released her Yesterday Was Forever album last year - which was all funded by a kickstarter campaign - Kate Nash returns with a bold new entry for 2019, the punk-infused love letter to Earth, "Trash".
Expanding on the inspiration behind it, Kate Nash explains, ""Trash" was written after I was asked to take part in an exhibition curated by Athena Pagington who asked artists to collect their single use plastic for a certain number of days and then make something out of it. Ideally I thought I could make music from my ‘trash’ from music. I went on a bit of a plastic trail, I experimented with actually creating records from epoxy resin with my single use plastic cut up and put into the records. I wrote the song specifically for the record. The whole thing really inspired and now I want to work on more music with an ethical/environmental agenda."
"Trash" arrives after a triumphant 2018, where Kate Nash continued her acting in the second series of Netflix's GLOW. She'll return in the third season landing in summer this year.
