Kanye West's Jesus Is King album is apparently dropping next week
On Saturday (12 October), Kanye West told the George Washington University crowd that his Jesus Is King album is arriving on 25 October.
Jesus Is King was first expected to drop on 27 September, before being pushed back to 29 September. Two weeks into October, and the album is still yet to arrive.
While Kanye West has been quiet with giving updates on the whereabouts of the record, during his Saturday night screening of Jesus is King: A Kanye West Experience at the George Washington University in Washington DC, the rapper told the crowd that Jesus Is King will drop on 25 October.
Forbes report that the Chicago rapper revealed the album was pushed back because "I’m making it better for ya’ll."
The new release date will coincide with his Jesus is King: A Kanye West Experience IMAX film.
Speaking between songs, Kanye West said, "I’m not here for your entertainment, I’m here to spread the Gospel. This is no longer my house...this is God’s house."
Jesus Is King is expected to have collaborations with Clipse (Pusha T and No Malice), Kenny G, supposedly Young Thug, and others.
Fake Shore Drive creator Andrew Barber posted on Twitter last week that the rapper plans to focus on gospel music in the future, "Kanye also announced that he is no longer making secular music. Only Gospel from here on out."
