Kanye West remixes a Lindsay Lohan movie soundtrack
Kanye West is the type of person who can, and will, try his hand at anything just to indulge the slightest whim. This tendency has been shown no more lately than in this new “remix” of sorts of the soundtrack and trailer to new film The Canyons.
The movie – written by Bret Easton Ellis, directed by Paul Schrader and starring Lindsay Lohan - hits cinemas, iTunes and on-demand services today (2 August). It already had a score already in place, written by Broken Social Scene’s Brendan Canning, but, you know what, Kanye wasn’t particularly pleased with it.
While the original soundtrack went for a more action-thriller feel, West’s retake (composed with help from Noah Goldstein) attempts to create a more cinematic and lo-fi effect.
You can check out both trailers below. DONDA is Kanye’s new multi-media non-profit collaborative organisation of sorts.
