Kacey Musgraves, Sturgill Simpson and more confirmed for John Prine virtual tribute event

John Prine's family will be hosting a Picture Show tribute event this week, which will feature performances from Kacey Musgraves, Sturgill Simpson, and more.

The livestream tribute event will also feature performances from Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires, My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James, Kurt Vile, Margo Price, Courtney Marie Andrews, Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, and more.

Prine's Picture Show tribute will also be attended by numerous actors and tv personalities, including Bill Murray, Billy Bob Thornton, Kevin Bacon, Rita Wilson, Stephen Colbert, and others.

The livestream event will also screen some never-before-seen footage of John Prine.

Prine's family will be fundraising for three organisations during the Picture Show tribute event - NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness); Make the Road New York, and Alive, a company offering counseling sessions to those who’ve lost a loved one to COVID-19. Prine died aged 73 in April after contracting coronavirus.
