Following Morrissey’s well-publicised recent memoirs, it looks like his former Smiths bandmate Johnny Marr is eager to give his own views regarding the band’s demise by releasing an autobiography of his own.
Much is said about the pair’s bickering in Moz’s Penguin Classic, Autobiography, but now Marr is preparing to give his side of the story, reportedly having already agreed a deal with publishers.
“I’ll do it in the next couple of years,” the guitarist recently told Brooklyn Vegan. “It is gonna happen, and I’ve already made an agreement with a publisher for it, so I will get it done.”
Marr added: “I’ve had so many offers and so many people advising me that my story is worth it, but I understand it’s something that I have to do.”
Johnny Marr released his debut solo album, The Messenger, earlier this year.
