John Lennon's Imagine microphone for sale on Craigslist
A microphone used in the recording of John Lennon’s 1971 album Imagine has been put up for sale for £1500.
The recording sessions with renowned producer Phil Spector took place in February, June and July of that year, before the album was released later in September. You can now own one of the mics Lennon recorded such songs as ‘Jealous Guy’, the McCartney-bashing ‘How Do You Sleep?’ and indeed title-track ‘Imagine’.
The piece of music history has been put on sale via internet bulletin board Craigslist. Validity of the item has not yet been confirmed, but the seller says: “All documentation is authentic as it was my Brother who purchased it for me as a gift a number of years ago.”
