John Cale and Thurston Moore announced as keynote speakers for Liverpool Sound City

Music conference and showcase festival, Liverpool Sound City have confirmed both John Cale and Thurston Moore as the keynote speakers at this year’s event.

The Velvet Underground and Sonic Youth musicians will also be joined by Rick Parry, former CEO of Liverpool Football Club, in giving talks.

“John and Thurston are two of the biggest global names in music – not just for the records they’ve made but the artists they have inspired and the sub-cultures they’ve inspired,” the festival’s organisers said of its guests.

Liverpool Sound City 2014 will run from 1-2 May.
