4′ 33″, the pioneering silent music composition by the late John Cage, has influenced a new phone app.
The 4′ 33″ app, commissioned by the John Cage Trust, encourages users to capture sounds around them, exploring ambiance the world over. The original song itself features 4 minutes and 33 seconds of sheer silence.
The app is currently available to download via the App Store. Check out some screenshots of it below:
