Jim Jarmusch’s band SQÜRL announce EP #260 and share “The Dark Rift”
The prolific director and his cohort unveil instrumental track “The Dark Rift”, one of three new songs from the upcoming EP which will be accompanied by remixes from Föllakzoid and Anton Newcombe.
SQÜRL, an avant-garde project backed by Jim Jarmusch, Carter Logan, and Vampire Weekend engineer Shane Stoneback, began life as Bad Rabbit and quickly became renowned for their shock 'n' awe tactics and lack of allegiance to genre.
Fast forward several years, EPs, and questionable lyrical content, the stoner/drone-rock contingent return with particularly jarring offering “The Dark Rift”, mixing mind-bending fuzz feedback with the slow, steady pounding of war drums, signalling some sort of cataclysmic sonic clash in another celestial plane.
