Jenny Lewis to release new solo album in 2014
Having recently contributed a new song to the Girls soundtrack, Jenny Lewis has now revealed that she’s finishing up her next solo release.
“I’m mixing next week and this is all I’ll say,” the former Rilo Kiley singer told Rolling Stone. “Until it’s mixed I don’t really want to talk about it, but it took a village.”
She added: “I’m superstitious, until I start mixing, I feel like when I start it then I will be able to actually speak of it. But I’m done recording, and I’m just mixing in LA.”
Lewis did reveal, however, that the record is inspired by bouts of insomnia. “Sometimes it take an experience like this to get you out of your own head and to get you out of your own routine as songwriting,” she told the publication. “I found it really inspiring, and it made me want to get back to myself and that sort of news-ticker in my head and my own inner monologue.”
The album will be her first solo attempt since 2008′s Acid Tongue. It’s said to be scheduled for a spring release.
