Jay-Z's Times Square gig cancelled amid health and safety concerns
“Will he, won’t he?” There’s been a lot of talk for what was supposedly meant to be a surprise Jay-Z concert at the heart of Times Square next week. Now, it appears the final word is that he won’t be performing after all.
The gig in question was scheduled to take place on 8 July from the marquee of the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York’s Times Square, following the release of Magna Carta Holy Grail four days prior.
However, health and safety concerns seem to have got in the way, despite Mayor Bloomberg previously granting permission for it to go ahead. The New York Post report that there had been “concerns about fireworks and terrorism”, among other health and safety fears.
Magna Carta Holy Grail drops tomorrow (4 July) via a Samsung smartphone app.
