Jay-Z performs 'Picasso Baby' for six hours straight at New York art gallery
With his highly-marketed high-concept album Magna Carta Holy Grail coming out earlier this month, you always knew Jay-Z was going to push the boat out with his promotional campaign, and now he’s decided to go all high-art by performing one of its tracks for six hours consecutively at a New York art gallery.
The hip-hop star ran through the aptly-named ‘Picasso Baby’ at the city’s Pace Gallery last night, joined by a host of famous guests such as performance artist Marina Abramović, director Judd Apatow and Girls actor Adam Driver.
The concept seems strangely reminiscent of a recent performance The National gave at New York art gallery, when they performed their track ‘Sorrow’ also for six hours straight.
