Jason Molina’s Hecla & Griper EP, released as Songs: Ohia, will be reissued today to mark it’s 15th anniversary and commemorate the singer’s recent passing.
The Secretly Canadian-signed musician died on 16 March from organ failure due to alcoholism. Molina’s addiction to alcohol had been long known, causing him to be largely inactive musically since 2009.
There will also be a tribute concert held in Bloomington, Indiana on Saturday 11 May, featuring performances from Songs: Ohia and Magnolia Electric Co. members and more.
It was also recently announced that Jeffrey Lewis, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and more will feature on a new Jason Molina tribute album.
